Global Forex was previously storing customer data in a web database, an on-premise database and Salesforce CRM. As the organization expanded in size and across geographic boundaries, it became inefficient and costly to manage data across three different systems. In addition, their sales process changed and their updated sales compensation structure required that transactional customer data be available in Salesforce. The process for integrating this data involved tens of thousands of transactions managed by Excel spreadsheets and transferred manually between systems.

In order to regain control of their customer data and centralize it within Salesforce, Global Forex needed an integration solution to automate the transfer of data from the XML file produced by their proprietary database to Salesforce CRM. It was also critical that the integration solution be expandable to easily accommodate updates to the XML file and allow the Administrator to troubleshoot errors and manage the integration from any of the company’s geographic locations.

Solution

Global Forex chose Boomi to integrate the XML file to Salesforce due to the ability to manage the integration processes from any location via a web browser, the ease of use, and the expandability of the platform. The company engaged Model Metrics to build out the integration to accommodate their complex business logic on the AtomSphere platform. It took 40 hours total to implement Boomi. Had they custom coded the integration, it would have cost $15k and would not be a scalable solution. Once built, the Salesforce Operations Manager was able to easily manage and troubleshoot the integration processes in production.
