Getting Installer Failed error message testing the Widget Manager URL
Hi,

I created a process that has a Salesforce integration which results in a Disk write. I tested the process and it works fine.
I followed the steps and created a widget with Installation type as local.

After generating the URL, i accessed the URL to test it.
But in the end of installation process it shows up an error message as "Installer Failed".

Can anybody tell why this is happening and what should be done?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Imran,

A few questions:
* What OS/version are you trying to install on?
* Is your Widget Manager Partner or Boomi Managed?
* How did you generate the URL, using the Link Generator or do you have your own code? What parameters are you passing in the WM URL? If you can post your URL (sanitized if necessary) that would be helpful.
* What version of Java is installed on the local PC?
* Does the local PC use an HTTP Proxy?
* On the local PC, search for a file named "install4jError*.log", usually in the user's temp/tmp directory.

Also, do you get this error consistently? Is it limited to the PC on which you are testing or does it occur if you try to do the wizard from a different PC (inside/outside your corporate network)?

Thanks Adam,

* OS on my machine is Windows XP.
* My Widget Manager is Partner Managed and i gave Partner User Id as "test" for generating link.
* I Used Link Generator for the URL. My URL is https://platform.boomi.com/widget/ma...L2Uw39h8Zgo%3D
* I have java 1.4 installed, but i also installed JRE 1.6 when i installed the Boomi Atom 2 weeks back.
* Yes My local PC uses HTTP proxy.
* I searched for install4jError file but could not find it.

Please let me know if anything else is required.

Hmm, I wonder if it might be the HTTP Proxy...I was able to successfully install an instance of your widget on my PC (no proxy). I also noticed there were a number of other instances in that manager (under My Integrations)...are those your previous attempts? I wonder if they actually installed completely but for some reason it simply didn't report back to the installer. Are those Atoms installed on your local PC? Can you run the process successfully on them?

On a side note, for the Widget Manager URL I would recommend using the link generated for the Widget Manager, as opposed to the specific Widget assigment. Just click the Link icon next to the Widget Manager name all the way to the left, instead of the one next to the Widget assignment. The Widget-specific link may be deprecated at some point.

Thanks Adam,

Yes, I tried many times and got the install failed error. I will check removing Proxy and try it again.
Will update you on this without using Proxy.
Once again thanks for your help.

Hi Imran,

Do the other installed Widget instances actually run? That is, can you execute the Process via the Run Now button? Does it report results back to the View Activity section?

Hi Adam,

When i clicked View Activity selecting any widget instances, it keeps on refreshing. I also clicked on Run Now button but nothing happens.
I am not sure why this is happening.

Were you able to execute the process successfully and able to see the end result?

Hi Adam,

I feel that when trying to setup a widget its failing because in that process it retries to setup the widget again and finally ends up showing Installer Failed error.
